Our Story

Breaking Free is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals facing hardship who often fall through the cracks of traditional assistance programs. While many resources are designed for seniors, families with children, or individuals with qualifying health conditions, there is a growing population of Able-Bodied Working Adults (ABWA) who struggle to access the help they need during difficult times.
Our mission is to provide support, resources, and hope to individuals experiencing challenges such as housing instability, food insecurity, lack of clothing, transportation barriers, and other unexpected life hardships. We believe that needing assistance is not limited to a specific age, family status, or medical condition, everyone deserves access to support when life becomes overwhelming.
Breaking Free was founded from personal experience. As a teenager, our founder encountered situations where help was desperately needed, yet many available programs did not apply because of age, eligibility requirements, or circumstances. Those experiences inspired a lifelong commitment to helping others who find themselves in similar situations.
Through community partnerships, resource connections, outreach programs, and direct assistance initiatives, Breaking Free strives to empower individuals to overcome temporary setbacks and move toward stability, self-sufficiency, and a brighter future.
At Breaking Free, we believe that everyone deserves a helping hand, not just those who fit within traditional categories of assistance. Our goal is simple: to bridge the gap between need and support, ensuring that no one is left behind.
